Cup- beverage manufacturer made shipping after their inspection on the seal part of cup by leak tester. On the other hand, many troubles happened frequently, such as the contents leaking from seal peeling part.
By verification of NG items, it came out only 1mm width sealed out of 3-mm cup flange width, cause cap seal was displacement.
Since seal width was narrow, we judged that it was unglued by the shock when loading the track, vibration during the transportation. We suggested the equipment makes seal width emerge with transmitted illumination to carries out image processing, then, finally installed.
Leak tester inspections carry out after picture inspection equipment now. ALL Results as O.K. by the picture inspection are also the results as O.K.by leak test. (Market claim is zero in three years).
Completion of inspection line is planning to be constructed only by this image processing system in the future.

Conventionally, prescribed marks (thread part marks) of caps / bottles were measured by protractor through random inspection in the PET bottle beverage production line though it was impossible to inspect all items as the matter of fact.
Then, our company proposed the in-line image processing measuring device.
Since the device was used our original special optical system, it was enabled to detect of the angle of prescribed mark and inspect for tight and loose because the device can capture the direction of360 degree of the cap and the bottle with one camera at the same time.
